wedding rehearsal dinner

anytime im in a house of people, i gravitate to the kitchen.  it's where i find solace cooking large meals for people since i dont live in a situation where i can let my culinary prowess free.  and when im around people, i also tend to sleep less.  so i'll get up at 6 in the morning, fiddle around the house eventually ending up in the kitchen.  finding a macguyver of techniques to whip up a few meals for the folk that are about to wake up.  breakfast was easy.  egg frittata with basil and gruyere.   roasted potatoes and tomatoes in bacon fat.  congee and a side kimchi prepared earlier by mama cho.  and simple garlic bread.

the days lunch seemed like the quickets assembly line of cooks to ever assemble.  chomo and i hit the supermarket in the morning.  came home with a bunch of stuff. and i somehow put everyone to work.

1. u can help make the salad.  here's a bowl.  cut the tomatoes peppers cucumbers and slice the onions.
2. victor u got the fish?  here u go.
3. can you peel and skewer these shrimp.  salt pepper lemon olive oil and some garlic.  and grill.
4. here are the ingredients for the chicken.  clean and marinate accordingly.
5. can you cut the onions and garlic and tomatoes.  anyway you like.  im gonna make some mussels
6. harvey...u love bread.  cut and toast the baguette.
7. burgers are ready.  sausages are ready.

and that was lunch.  victor hit the grill.  i finished the mussels.  all was prepped and cooked in an hour.  amazing.  and amazing lunch cuz we had to head to castle hill.  amazing drinks.  amazing venue.  only to head to no. 41.  another amazing venue for the wedding rehearsal dinner.  like a miami themed decor in newport....tho i did sit next to someone who waited until the pistachio ice cream to have a good time...
