do you remmeeber a time when mcdonalds was absolutely amazing?  and not because of the nostalgia of your childhood munching down on a kiddie meal....but a time where what u ordered looked more closely like the photos (without being in japan) and where what you ordered tasted like a glorious mound of unhealthy indulgence.  a time when french fries were crispy and the waft of greasy potatoes tingled the nostrils before your mouth was filled with salty umami coating the inside of your mouth right down to your tummy....

that was beef tallow my friend.

And the answer is—they changed the way they made them in 1992. They went from frying them in beef tallow to frying them in some combination of vegetable oil.  - gladwell...

actually i knew this from the supersize me book.  i thought they only stopped using beef tallow in india...not the whole world....but if u want the beef tallow potato...go to WHITE GOLD BUTCHERS>  APRIL BLOOMFIELDS CRISPY LAYERED POTATOES ARE A THING OF BEAUTY.  CRISPY, CRUNCHY, MCDONALDSY DELICIOUS POTATOES!!!

wow...divorce is real...and the reality of divorce is suddenly all around...and it's kind of sad.  all the cliches of life...."money doesn't buy happiness...",  " life is short",  blah blah blah blah blah....it's all true.  WTF ....

but u still get a boat...and chicks...and a lot of money...and chicks...and a boat...and a lot of money.

...when amanda craves pancakes...she wants japanese pancakes.  and she wants perfect miniature pancakes....she is equally particular about the taste of the food as much as its food styling and the eventual picture upload.  her knowledge of food...makes for specific demands...which makes for a constant stream of detail and a lot of trips to the japanese market.
