i wish you would've told me i didnt have to wear a suit to the meeting...cuz i was drenched from sweat...and then drenched from the torrential downpour.  cigar and whiskey outside didnt help...but man was that whiskey smooth....highly recommend it...

nikka whisky from the barrel!

i guess its kind of weird to be hanging out with winton two days in a row...tho i guess its not as weird as "kelly" being with winton....hahhahaa...what a coincidence....and so saturday started with..."i'm not drinking tonight...because we had a rough night last night"....and after hearing bits and pieces of the previous nights shenenigans at dinner...while going through withdrawal from HK...i was having a party alone...for the second weekend in a row.  and from dinner and new friends and seeing everyone in town..."alex knows everyone"....we went from 熱炒 to halo...to chess....oh man...i don't even know how i made it home that night...

only to have brunch the next day...barely being able to recap the night.  apparently i was dancing?  and then cafe and coffee turned into a bottle of wine...or two...and then a huge bottle of sake for dinner...oh man...how did i make it home from there???

going to HK ain't a 'thang.  and turning a weekend into a full week in HK is par for the course.  what was also unexpected was running into JURI at the airport.  i made eye contact with the tall skinny korean model uncomfortably sticking out in the back only to realize...HIII JURI!!! and we were coincidentally both waiting for our boyfriends.  except hers was tall....and mine was dan cho...but regardless...SO GOOD SEEING U!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY JURI!!!

the week seemed to fly by with events going on everyday and every night.  but yet i seemed to only see dan on the weekends...mornings and a 30 minutes before bed.  hotel lkf turned into a college dorm room with room service all over the table and noodles spilled all over my bed.  i would never have booked that hotel, that location especially for a week, tho i'll have to be grateful to sneak out of DI and walk home across the street.  that saved me.  the one night that could've been a horrendous hangover...

and so it went...after a long delayed flight...plans fell through and so we immersed ourselves in the humid shitshow that is lan kwai fong.  dan's sense of travel is that of a never been out of the country bright eyed naive teen.  the problem is, we're in our mid thirties and i'm in double digit visits to HK already.  delusional amateur hour doesn't work well...neither do the two sitting at the bar that dan seemed so eager to spend money on.  until i said...LETS GO MEET JENN PENG!!!  that was much better...HI JENN PENG!

for the first time in a while...i actively pushed for a richer HK experience.  lets go to ART BASEL!  however, an art show in HK is an art show for purchase. not an art show for exhibit.  putting a value in the forefront of any trip undermines any deeper ideal...and so i looked for the bar.  and bar and bar and dinner and more bar...the others stopped drinking...but i didn't.  i guess i had a party by myself..." no one had more fun than you alex"

i bring gym clothes because i go to the gym at the hotel...fewer trips as i get older...but nonetheless...i go.  and after a mini competition with some stranger on the treadmill next to me...i had birthday lunch and drinks all over again...

tuesday...i went to china.  a useless trip to get stuck in the rain and breathe in grey smog.  its odd how the sky changes as you drive across the border...my aunt didnt pick up her phone and i was lucky cassanova ronnie was in SZ....he had coffee with me until my aunt showed up.  5 hours later...i couldn't take it anymore...GET ME OUT OF CHINA!  and so i went to dinner at little bao.  little bao would've been better if she didn't have a boyfriend...

wednesday...due to the previous days poor showing...my aunt decided to come visit me in HK.  so after my suit fitting we walked around, ate wonton noodles, went to dinner with christina at kwan kee...and then drinks at three monkeys...and i was completely blitzed by then...that i had to stop by dragon i...and dissappear...

thursday...going to the bank with a headache...happens a lot.  going to visit a baby with a headache...also happens a lot...we stopped by josh's to visit arum before dinner.  and then with janets recommendation...we went for korean pocha food....and with soju and kimchi in my belly...i became angry

friday....finally made it home...only to do it all over again on saturday....
