i love the rock ballad.   and hetfield describes it perfectly...

the rifts....single note rifts....they sounded fat.  if you really analyze the sound it's not really fa sounding.  it's got an edge to it that cuts.   getting that at first on the first albums....then it grew more into a depth.it's like   i wanted to play drums on the guitar.  i wanted a really percussive
percussion on guitar...one that really reacts quickly and punchy and also if you hang on a chord it really fills the room...
my arms are so dead

but not in bad shape.

under 40 minutes

i think i did it in 37 my first time 2011

this was pretty good....quinoa kale and stuff....

"lets hurry up and get married now before she changes her mind..."

"dearly beloved we are gathered here today because all of you helped frank get home safe.  otherwise he wouldn't be alive to get married..."

chicken again....but only for the mille feuille...

award winning terrine....

we went to le coq rico for an early sunday roast chicken supper.  we got a senior citizen 5pm reservation at the bar and it's an enjoyable quiet atmosphere to drink a negroni and watch the chefs prep the kitchen.  word of advice:  try not to fill up on the delicious yeasty bread and butter.  walk over and stare at the rotisserie rotate glistening chickens before the crowd piles in...i unknowingly ate three pieces of bread while chicken oogling.  the restaurant is known only for chicken so just order a whole chicken for two.  they recommend the brune landaise...a mostly white meat chicken but were not white folk so we got the fowl.  more dark meat and a deeper poultry flavor.  they take it off the spit.  carve it.  put it on a cast iron plate and broil it under the salamander for a few moments.   crispy golden fragrant chicken. it was delicious.  simple roasted chicken with gravy and vegetables on the side.  have some wine to wash down the bird and order the oreo black truffle ice cream.  who wouldve thought oreo and truffle is such a perfect match....

i kept thinking of how to write this post overnight....wanting to give this chicken rave reviews.  but at 100 bucks for a chicken...it just becomes a justification post.  sadly, this is how all chicken in america should taste like and here it is at a premium.  there shouldn't be the existence of crappy chicken.  this should be the standard.  why can't americans adopt european basics??? why??

the appetizer is fantastic too.   poached egg.

black truffle creme anglais ice cream coated with oreo

i spent the afternoon making this....

we sprinkled the stars onto the table.  the plates.  the soy sauce.  the chopsticks.

some got on skanders head....and some got into the wine....and some got into amandas throat.   i was worried at first....and then she told me she choked on the star of david... i started cracking up.

i was excited for chinese banquet dinner...jelly fish.  sea cucumber.  lobster salad.  soup.  and then costco dimsum came out.....i didn't even know this was possible...

when the wife is away...the chinese people gather for hot pot...

"john...why do you have a rainbow cock in your fruit basket?"

i'll give you two more for every one you catch in your mouth.

"there are people that claim that he's this wonderful chess master and he's got everybody going in the direction he wants and its all diversion and he's keeping people hidden from the real story and strategy...im not willing to give him credit for this wonderful genius....it's like if you go to the zoo and the monkey throws feces against the wall...and then you go oh he distracted me while he got the banana"  - jackO

if you don't read twitter and watch the news....the country seems to be doing fine...trumps poll numbers aren't historically horrible and the economy is showing positive numbers.  i'm not the first person to think that maybe this populist demagogue might be a genius.  he did win the election after all.  control the masses CONTROL ROME!  his state of the union address finally showed some semblance of a normal person, eloquent, reserved, polished, rational, emotional, scripted, concise, presidential.  and then three days later he accused obama of wire tapping him.  if any one of these conspiracy theories come true.  its the end of the liberals.

on the flip side...some republican supporters lean on the system to undo their vote.  they say that trump will be impeached (if he is committed of insanity).  the system is indeed working to block some of his outrageous actions...(some might even be laudable if he were to give diplomatic reasons rather than dictator ultimatums)  but the impeachment process isn't until 2 years down the road until the house shifts....he'd have to do something really outrageous for his own party to vote against him....

"i'd rather have a crazy republican in office than a democrat"
