the motliest of crews went to crossfit on a saturday morning.  approx 30 minutes of exercise. a 5 set circuit for time (21 kettlebell swings, 15 situps, 9 squats, 6 pushups, 3 burpees).  and then went out for drinks and food and dessert for three hours.   bao.  chikalicious.

i finished 11.30.  john cheated 13.30.  victor had back aches and did the equivalent of a female pushups.  15. and chung looked like he might die. 16.

"lets get some chinese food...i don't eat chinese with my wife"
"when i go to chinese food with my wife...she orders 90 percent of the dishes...and i order one dish.  she gets fried rice and general tso's"
"that's funny....i never get to eat korean food anymore..."

puppy at the gym!

new yorkers trying to refill their metro cards were like WTF when they waited on a non moving line at the union square station kiosk.  kids hogged the line....buying one supreme after another supreme metrocard....manually entering the 5.50 value for the limited edition supreme metrocard.  which was selling on ebay for a few hundred bucks.  brilliant marketing campaign....

just for you skp...

it would've been nice if the google mailroom delivered the flowers NOT AFTER 5PM....

we cook these dishes at home...

momofuku nishi is just like any other chang establishment.  same wood bench decor.  same hippy yuppie crowd.  same casually friendly staff.  and same asian fusion menu.  underwhelming and the soju and sake cocktails try too hard.  i guess if you're gluten free....then the gluten free cacio pepe is amazing.  if u're normal...just eat the real thing.

a little bit of freedom and i feel like im talking more....laughing lauder and obviously drinking again...

(this is the best night since i've been back...)  "WE STILL GOT IT"

i had no clue bridesmaid duties involved arts and crafts and baking?  i thought it was another party.  and when ur gf is stressed when the DIY amazon prime packages arrive...u join in to help out just to get it over with...asap.  and sometimes...it's just easier to do it yourself.  for her.  for the bridal shower.  gah.  rainbow cake...

tom brady is amazing.  he is the best ever.  this superbowl took me a full week to digest.  to me,  it was this awe inspiring, inspirational comeback that brought back innocent emotions of elation, of joy, of luck of looking up to a hero, of positivity, of karma....how to even describe it?  im not a patriots nor falcons fan....but as a football fan, i root for the underdog, or i root for a good game.  and as a fan of the sport, i gave up on the patriots going into the fourth quarter down 28-9.  i just can't believe what i witnessed....

i've been in that situation (hs football playoffs)...and it's just so easy to have doubt swing your emotions.  to continually have nothing going for you for three quarters and time winding down...it's so easy to give up...but tom brady goes into the huddle and stares at his guys with unwavering confidence and goes to work.  creates this aura of trust...and everyone performs at a high level and with no mistakes....it was unreal...

and even then...to get all the right plays...and score...they still needed both two point conversions.  ok so they have the best coaching in the sport.

THEY STILL NEED TO WIN THE OVERTIME COIN TOSS!!!

i spent the entire week watching videos on player interviews as to what was said in the locker room at halftime.  and then what was said going into the third quarter.  everyone acknowledged brady's greatness.  everyone acknowledged the teams professionalism never giving up and continually strategically chipping away at the lead....but football is still played with a certain amount of emotion.
i just imagine being the huddle and to almost give up....but to look up at a hall of famer leading u.  never a doubt....that must be amazing.  i wish i was that person....

and then win the coin toss....

also makes me "believe" again...

however im writing this post a month after the superbowl....so maybe im back being jaded....since ACT didn't work out...GAH.

chung ordered male strippers...with the fire alarm...

date night w noemi...

asians taking photos of food

david choe is the guy who painted the facebook mural for stock options...i guess he's famous for other stuff....like his stint at sizzler with bourdain...he's rich and he's a renegade.  and now he's got a band.  mangchi.  that plays for steve aoki's fashion line, dimak, at nyfw 2017.

dim mak?

or dim mak?

mangchi sounds like the influences of a 90s alternative era of stage diving and head banging.  they don't make bands like that anymore.  that kind of energy.  the red suit.  lobster claws.  "clear eyes full hearts can't lose" t shirt.  i heard some primus...some xx xy, some rage, some chili peppers...some staind....some sound garden....good show....light crowd.  avoided the mosh pit.  had some pizza and jameson....not a bad night as part of `my freedom tour.
