SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA - i scoured world square looking for solace away from the friggin RAIN in the form of a local cup o' joe and wifi.  however, with no others pulling out their laptop @ local bistro's and baristas, i turned to a gloria jean franchise for hope that even with no others typing away with their coffee, wifi would still exist.  my hopes were obviously crushed as i sit here @ internet cafe trying to regroup from this mornings whimsical self guided tour.  i dropped off my luggage @ the devere hotel in potts point (thank you pinkami for reservation) and went self-pioneering with a laptop and lonely planet in my backpack.  the LONELY PLANET was a HEAVY WASTE OF MONEY and with no wifi, why am i lugging the laptop?  this city at first impression seems like a run down boston....or the less posh areas of boston, underpopulated and full of tourists from china.  blame the rain on the jaded view of down under.  when i hit the beach, i'll review again.  anyways, im seriously racing through the tourist sites jsut to tick them off the list before i just spend some time mingling with the lax pace that seems to be inherent in everyone.  aussie guys are your standard beer bellied balding lot and the aussie women have somehow managed to keep that goodlooking XX chromosome in tact regardless of the weight department.  so....a few more hours in the rain, 1230 lunch with a billionaire pa hopeful, and a trip to darling harbour...and i'md heading back to hotel to regroup before HITTIN' THE PISS....

this glass fire station looks pretty cool.

terminal 3 @ singapore's changi international airport is new, modern, chic, spacious and seemingly well designed.  that however seems to all only be the henchmen to the real star of the show....the A380!  sitting in front of the gate, sans alcoholic beverages, waiting to board.  could be the first time i've ever gotten to the airport early, but also could be the most amount of money i've spent on airport shopping....will definitely post a review about the airplane...on the plane.

had me some kampong chicken for lunch.  kampong meaning village in malay....and when used as an adjectif for chicken doesn't have any "prostitution" connotation to it....rather it just means that the chicken is of the wild kind, not breeded and genetically altered to have juicier, thicker and more tender meat.  they prefer the leaner more sinuous meat in this part of the world, especially when it comes to their chicken.

Eyemar heart ICRT.   (might have to get those tshirts made)

all things stopped in the office today when dj louisa gave an international shout out on taipei's ICRT  international radio station for Eyemar International, shoutouts to singapore, malaysia and australia.  fabian, the golden abacus stopped all work, stood up in flattery  and juiced up his speakers, kenn/pla/cass tapped into icrt via online streaming airplay as well...sitting around waiting for their shoutout ....as did hanif the big malaysian tree trunk.  what a way to start the weekend.

we are, or at least prissy sabrina is, that makansutra groupie that treks out to the far stretches of HDB hawker to find cheap eats and quick thrills.  that's right up until the local restaurant owners see right through us and try to "cross sell, up sell" us.  swindling our efforts to find high quality cheap seafood by pressuring a 3 person order to include high end abalone and an unecessary extra order of 50 dollar crab.   but have no fear, i dont mind under order cuz in this humidity, when food isn't enough, turn ur head to beer. and when there's beer plus me plus sabrina and jae, there's another singlish lesson in store over dinner.  tonight it was sekali! and eat potato (jiakgantang)....hahaha....i'm still laughing.

we came just for this....the crab was succulent, sweet and full of meat.  cooked delicately to perfection braised in a butter/cream/garlic based sauce with noodles at the bottom.

they ran out of playboy chicken....so jae asked for the playgirl duck. hahah...waitress didn't appreciate that one.  so aunty aunty.  here's a picture of the chicken eater eating chicken....(translate in chinese...hahaha)

my first unofficial date in singapore last night and things couldn't have gone any smoother.  satay and beer @ lau pa sat for that sweaty intimate indigenously non pretentious flare followed by drinks @ the "drugging ur date" candlelit turkish hooka bar setting to facilitate pre-coital inhibitions....our continuous conversational tangents over religion, star wars, homelessness, jk rowling and nyc property owners, was not only scintillating, but riveting enough that my 4 double johnnie walkers didn't trigger my normal powers of persuasion to place a non-alcoholic embargo upon my partners beverage...we even got caught in such heated talks that we did 2 long stints of blase sidewalk cab-flagging whilst debating harry potter's popularity.

unfortunately it was with a dude. my broker.

i don't like 關東煮 but when jeff took me there after a heavy night of drinking, it was absolutely delicious.  MSG gives me a bad headache but i guess when u're hammered, it doesn't matter anyway.  so i craved this stuff but i'll have to say, eating it at 11pm sober isn't as good as 3am drunk.
