How do i even begin to describe a most amazing weekend in Sunny San Diego culminating with the most awesome wedding on saturday....bbq pool party get together on sunday.  which had me absolutely out of commission monday.  of which all my texts accurately read "i haven't moved from the couch"

coming in from hk...it took me 2 hours to get through tom bradley immigration.  get my luggage and walk over to the commuter terminal at lax.  it took another hour for me to get through security.  and then waited for another 1.5 hours for a 21 minute flight to San Diego.  i can't remember eating much on the plane.  and i can't really remember eating much thursday night either.  but i do remember oyster shots kicked off the night.

and we had to chase the night with more drinks at home.  not before lewis says "lets stop by and say hi to my parents"  and i think i was cornered into a 2 beer conversation with lewis' dad while he cooked instant noodles...

omg im starting to love kids.  even 最愛玩的人遲早也要定下來。。。

i sweat a lot.  and so if im going to trek somewhere to work out.  i better be able to shower and have a change of clothes ready.  otherwise, it's a tough ride back for the people around me.  那是水還是汗？  

there's specific elitism everywhere you go.  u can see it in peoples diction.  you can learn about it through their history.  hongkies never spoke mandarin before cuz english rule made them superior.  (now they need china business) 台灣外省人不會講台語.  because they felt superior to the locals.  (until ex president chen came along and distinguished twnese culture and a strong independent political party).  i can feel it as i notice specific areas of my language deficiencies.  。  there's a very black and white formula as to what is good and what is bad in asia.  it's the 教育方式。  in the US, good and bad kids go out and party.  in Asia, good kids don't go out.  and so my mom never went out.  she studied confusious and didn't read comics.  so i went to get 鹵味。。。thought...what the heck is a 丐幫鹵味？？ 

i like what the technology has done to the world.  i like how it's broken these barriers of good and bad.  it keeps the focus at good hearts and not petty outdated eliticism.

for me, knowledge of nutrition is great.  but the real key to fitness and weight control, weight loss really all begins with exercise.  my mesomorph body type requires exercise.  and my lifestyle will not allow the occasional "drinks" to go away.  i'm pretty proud of myself that the past 2 nights post drinks i ate nothing.  absolutely nothing.  the last time i had that kind of resolve was probably 2010?  i really let myself go...hahaha.  and finally im' showing control all due to the increased exercise.  increased intensity. plyometrics are back in my life.  and i just finished a 5 mile run (with uphill hike included).  better energy.  smaller appetite.  looser pants.

d's smart.  he does what he does for a living.  he knows how to put people together.  he knows how to drink like a fish.  get the party started.  sober up at the right moments and still kind of finagle himself for opportune business opportunities.  he knew inviting me would work.  and he knew they'd like me.  and so these nights are kind of scripted for me..."oh no i'm not korean.  중국사람에요...응...네...네....응..."   nod nod...bow bow..."엄마 대만사람...아파 인도네시야 중국인...네..네...응. 응...."  then they laugh.  then we drink. (two hands...always two hands)  my drinking abilities are very very helpful in this case.  i show up late.  have penalty drinks. a lot of penalty drinks.  and that buys some respect.  that also buys some confusion.  "진짜짜 중국사람?" ...we have fun.  we party.  it helps that i know some random ass stuff like "oh...u live in 여이도?  i love that 방치찜 there..."  and then we sing 녹섹지데...and then we sing 남헹열차...and then everything after that becomes 이지 from that point on...oh you do 석탄 and 석유화학 trading?  when we are back in korea....i invite you to 베리 나이스 방치찜....yada yada....d's smart...(and i'm good....ㅋㅋㅋ)

i would argue that deep down has no relevance, because you're being evaluated on what can be perceived. as we become more 'adult' the hope is that the public persona falles more in line with your 'deep down' persona. part of that is knowing who you are, what you want, and being secure about it.
