i think the furtheset i've ever gone was amagansett....only about 10 miles away from montauk...but i've just never ventured out to the tip of long island.  i've never really had much urge to go east of my house for that matter....suburbia is all the same...and i prefer pool life to beach life...and if im going to a beach im hopping on a plane...that is until this year....amanda has taught me some lessons on beach life....where beach and swim are intertwined in short quick daily activities...instead of a full day requiring cumbersome planning...a long drive...and the beaches on long island just aren't nice....

EXCEPT MONTAUK!....gurney's feels like miami.  smooth soft sand.  cleaned and groomed.   the sky looks clearer...and the water feels cleaner.  the people are just as douchy as miami...but you can walk to the outskirts of the umbrella's and create a nice nook of friends....it's a really good time.  football, water, wine and friends....really really nice.

the rooms....for that type of beach resort...at 900 bucks a night...not very nice...nor is the clam bake for100 bucks a ticket when the food is absolute shit....but....we snuck in.  so....VERY VERY NICE.

parking lot watching is quite the scene....drunk douchebags leaving the beach....and hitting on girls waiting for overpriced cabs to take them home to change...before coming back here to party....

clam bake...

food was shit...but free vitamin water for the win!!!!

maybe it's a taiwanese thing....but i think it's well known that taiwanese people even more so than any other asian race will greet you without the hello or hi...and instead replace it with "oh you got fat..."
when chapter two in a "learning chinese" study book for foreigners includes "you got fat" in it's phrasebook greetings....u know it's embedded in the culture.

planners usually plan out quite an extravagant event for themselves....and when attached to a non planning bf...it poses problems....but those are just normal relationship things that people go through.  nothing compared to the delinquent friend getting drunk and super imposing spewing chewed up corn all over the place in the car...

anytime an ethnicity becomes "americanized" it gets greasy and excessive.

Blanca is the definition of hipster.  tattoo's, beards, gelled parted hair and skinny jeans...tucked away in a culinary laboratory in the back of a pizza parlor on a dirty, graffittied street in brooklyn.  it boasts a tasting menu that has the idea of michelin casual....but lacks a real defined punch of palate.  we drank sake and toasted to amandas birthday.
