when a family member is in the hospital the natural feeling of concern is a constant underlying notion but it is only a prevalent instinct at first notification of the bad news. the rest of the time, one is absolutely immersed in the sheer logistics of care running back and forth btwn hospital and home. transportation issues, sorting out financial needs, gathering not only things grandpa needs (extra clothes, toiletries, snacks, heating pads, thermos etc) but also ur own needs for those extended hour stays with him in the hospital. tiring and nerve racking taking care of the immobilized, but then watching over another octogenarian (grandma) to visit him takes on 2 fold responsibility that has me POOPED!
gramps is ok. stable now. thanks for everyones best wishes. he's flirting with nurses and chatting up a storm in the hospital. requested to have pictures taken so he can keep it as a memory. will check on him again in 2 weeks. his 93rd bday is coming up too. amazing.
tired granny....
