"we knew you still had a bit of a journey to go"
i must have suppressed a lot of my hs memories because i can't fully remember how bad that time of my life was. i've mentioned the overall situation to peers as a bit of a background but i haven't really talked about it since then. and now that i've come full circle, around the world and back ...and back in the basement that i lived in for a short stint in hs....all the memories somewhat flooded back. we caught up. we talked. we were happy to see each other. they treated me as an adult. that felt refreshing. i am most grateful. i didn't have to explain how bad it got in my mid twenties. they knew how it was in my teens. my formidable years were strong. i was explaining why i when i do bench press, i pop the bar off my chest and explode. thats how i was taught. coach john regan. interesting.
"pay it forward"
"as coaches and teachers, we see your talents before maybe you even see them. what happens in the future...we're not surprised. we see it and understand how and why it happens cuz we've seen it from the beginning"
