i wanted to start a restaurant when i was 24. that idea was completely and utterly destroyed by my family. by my parents and all those around them. why go to school to open a restaurant. their perspective on the world was entrenched in an outdated hierarchy of success values. the internet crushed all hierarchy of elitism because now, knowledge of everything and anything trumps all. in fact, its an advantage for the educated to take their degree of academic knowledge and then apply it to outdated small business ventures to take them franchised, global, public, etc.
putting aside that bitterness of my own personal experiences in my mid twenties beside me, i most recently had a conversation with echang about juice. if you like juice. why not start a juice business. and as it may once seem like high overhead for low return. and small expectations for a simple thing like juice, the world today is much different. friggin chobani is at 1 billion in sales for friggin yogurt. wtf.
