핸드매드 birthdays

for me, and for my family, birthdays aren't made out to be an ordeal.  presents, parties are an afterthought.  even dinner doesn't have much value for the day as it's just a gesture so it can be postponed to any day of the week as long as we're together at some point.  it kind of drums down the event and in effect it makes my idea of special events different than that of my peers.  which, can cause issues.

though to me, home cooked meals are always special.  even if it happens all the time, its still all i want.
