Bestia

for los angeliens...the hipster hole in the wall type places are starting to become the new yelped craze for foodies...downtown still has a ways to go, but the skid row crappy area boasts cheap rent for restaurants to take advantage and create a quant dining niche amidst the slums.  bestia boats regional italian cuisine with brick oven pizza and a nice charcuterie menu along with quality seafood pastas and entrees.  its good, its hip, it's happening and it's very new york.  u find one of these bistros on every other block in new york and you find celebrity chefs opening up new high end bistro's all the time.  which is why i don't trust a californians palate with the exception of mexican food.  regardless, bestia is good.
