i've developed a certain rapport with my friends and acquaintances as this "media personna". i guess it makes sense? a few months ago, i was referred for that reality show audition/application. and now with the buzz of amy chua's article....i get this in the mail
Ask Alex. I can't think of anyone else, not likely gonna happen, but
would be interesting.
Email from my friend:
long story short my sister's coworker and cnn asked him to be on interview panel discussing being
raised by an asian mother bc of all the buzz around amy chua's book
but he can't do it. the person would have to be in ny and available
tomorrow am. if you know anyone interested can you send me their
contact info and i will pass along. someone from cnn could potentially
reach out to them to screen them or whatever if they still need
someone. it's already 4p today so i'm sure this is likely not going to
work out but let me know.. they want to hear from young adults who
have experienced this type of strict upbringing. it would be a group
interview with 2-3 asian american young adults (20s-early 30s) who can
talk about the pros and cons of being raised in this type of
environment. obviously someone who is well spoken and tv friendly is
what they're looking for.
