u know that feeling when u're about an hour away from driving to a ski resort and u can view the mountain? the scenery all of a sudden changes to pine trees, cold mist, snowy mountain tops and steaming mufflers from the cars in front of u? ur windshield starts to fog up a bit and u spend the next hour figuring out how to control the heat in the car versus the fog developing on the windows....yea. that feeling is driving anywhere in the northwest. it's one big ski resort. a bit gloomy, very rainy and the perfect patagonia or lands end catalog commercial. gore tex, boots, beards, 4 wheeler suv's, fresh pacific seafood, heavy japanese community, heavy vietnamese community, average chinese community and probably a huge indian community due to the tech force in the most expensive zip code in the United States.
everywhere in the US is the same. that's the beauty of it. an intricate weaving of developed infrastructure for the burgeoning masses of a credit ridden middle class. zero culture shock, perfectly in the comfort zone and a chance to enjoy only variances of what you have at home already. essentially boring. here ya go.
the original starbucks. i mean seriously. did i really need to see the first starbucks? they're all the same. dUH!
seafood on steroids
seattle grunge station!!! even as grunge/alternative is dying. seattle dedicates one station to hold onto it's glory days of the 90s. i heard stone temple pilots interstate love song thrice in 2 days. pearl jam and alice n chains is a staple throughout christmas holidays. interesting.
