sweetness....

"if i really were to get married, a lot of people would cry"  - huei-i

since most of my readers are still from the states....here's written from the states pov.

it's always nice to take a break from the wonderbread, pepperidge farm, sunbeam and other supermarket bread makers of the world to take a dive into the sweeter tasting, more buttery flavored and tighter kneaded chinatown bakery breads.  from 100 yards away, u can smell the heavy mix of sweet caramel toppings, butter, yeast, and canto coffee luring any ethnicity to walk in, grab a few delectables, order a hot beverage and pick up a loaf of bread for tomorrows breakfast.  the next mornings toast is now a thicker sliced bread, taking longer to toast, and a nice heartily sweeter compliment for your typical array of preserves (i love coconut jam).

HOWEVER,  with this being said, this sweet bread palate of the asian bread maker should only be cornered into a small corner of a "good change" from the norm.  most breaded items on lifes menu require your standard NOT SWEET bread.  hamburgers, hot dogs, bread crumb fry, sandwiches etc.  hot dogs with a sweet bun just tastes off!  hamburgers with a sesame sweet bun doesn't complement as harmoniously.  not only has this sweet phenomenon swept across bread nation in taiwan, it's moved across all categories of starch.  like POTATO CHIPS!

asia will always come out with weird and wacky flavors and most of the time they just taste like a retarded version of BBQ, WANNABE SPICY, and in this instance RANCH....of course i got suckered to buying it cuz "curiosity killed the cat".  but after eating a couple and realizing the flavor wasn't all that special, i then noticed a distinct sweetness in the lays potato chip!  SWEET!  UGH. EWW.  italian spinach cheese....
