i missed my flight...AGAIN!

with 60 min left before takeoff, i found msyelf still trying coax the printer to unleash 25 beautifully prepared colored pages of all-nighter sweat.  of course, the laser printer which is advertised to print 15 ppm was performing not just under par, but seemed to spool only the first half of the presentation off 3 consecutive print commands.  so with 4 copies of the first ~16 pages, fabian and i went against contingency judgment staying the extra 10 minutes in futility continuing to assuage the printer hoping the next one would print in full.  in hindsight, i could see myself going "office space (the movie)" on the machine, but i didn't...and just rushed off to the airport.  when i arrived at the counter....

*F*CK! $h!7!!!@#!@# I DON'T !@#$ UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CAN'T JUST OPEN
THE GATE! !@#!" the thai mother cussed operatically in front of the
jetstar counter.

haidah said that i just quietly backed myself as far as possible from the rage of frustrated tantrum and in all honesty, i was scared.  pla went bezerk at the jet star counter not giving up any sign of letdown of anger even after time and again being rejected to board the flight that closed for check in 30 min before departure.  in my experiences, with no bags for check in, it's not so hard for an attendant to open up the 'check in' to allow the 8 stranded passengers still in queue at the counter...nonethless, pla went off.  it was quite a site.  =)

i think this is the 2nd time this year i've missed my flight.  i keep thinking it's the third, but i can only remember missing my hk-spore flight in june and today's missed flight to jakarta.  (oh i came uber close 2 weeks ago in taipei)....anyway, missing a flight not due to last nights hedonistic consumption is quite new fare for me.  in fact, the entire office missed the flight, pretty darn hilarious if you ask me.  it gave us time to have lunch and talk in hindsight about what might have been if we made it on time......in summation....kenn put it best....

"i wanted to fly Garuda anyway..."

i missed a flight for the first time earlier this year.  it didn't help that i had my mom in tow, which made me feel even more like an irresponsible child, and i was so anxious and upset over it- we missed it by 2 minutes, the last call announcement (we heard it as i ran through the airtrain entrance up to the counter...line) and gahhh i keep having nightmares about missing flights now.  irony- if i'd had those nightmares before that, i would have been paranoid and gone extra early to make sure we didn't miss it.
oh, and here's a trick (?) - if it's not printing in full, whatever pages are missing, try printing just those.... hahaha.  or just slip a usb stick into the port and save it so you can print it at your destination... yes i'm oh so wise :P
