C2C business model

the C2C business model is simple.  if it works elsewhere...copy it to china.  government censorship and firewalls have blocked companies like facebook and google into china, but this has also allowed chinese companies to redevelop the same media platforms to not only cater to china but also increase user experience.  tencent is a perfect example of creating chat applications more user rich than its original western counterpart.  instead of facebook there is weibo.  instead of google there is baidu.  and instead of youtube there is youku.  creating a counterpart is easy, but filling it with quality content is quite a different story.  and so companies have started with ripping content elsewhere, re uploading them in china....causing hollywood to stress over copyright infringement before giving up realizing there was no arguing with the china government, so they started selling media rights for cheap in hopes of at least making some rather than no monetary gain.   but mainstream programming is only the tip of the iceberg.  today's media content covers the entire web scope which a billion people in the mainland have zero access to.  things you take for granted, mens health, good housekeeping, cars, tv reviews, wild and crazy videos, nsfw videos, environmental policy videos, tech speeches, workout apps,  etc.  the list goes on.  so in comes neonan.com.

neonan.com - the askmen.com meets break.com of china.  teaching young males the better life, bringing in international college humor and ultimately bringing international exposure to locals yearning to see quality content.  here's the hitch.  passion for the initial scope lasts only as long as you have money.  advertising dollars are about 1/6 of what the west pays and so the business model has to move towards exposure + product development.

bring in something that the mainlanders can like.  promote a show.  sponsor a celebrity.  then parlay that fame into selling your own tangible item.  driving gloves.  sunglasses.  protein shakes.  workout apps.  anything that can be made within china is going to cost nothing, while the margin is going to be through the roof.  thats where i come in.

whoever took these pictures is an idiot...
