practice.

i spent 2 days with josh and janet.  2 people that i've never really hung out with yet we are close with all the same mutual friends.  it's not just that we gave each other ammo on our friends, but somehow we did manage to cover a huge array of topics while walking through london just checking out the town.  great hosts.  lots of conversation.  and they introduced me to apple girl.

other than the double doors in bathrooms, there's not much culture shock heree.  maybe mayfair is too white and contrived.  alot of americans.

I don’t think about your position criteria, but more so the network of you being introduced to the real developing continent of the world.  Using your bi cultural strengths alongside the name of a huge global bank.  You're going to kill it.  You're not a paper tiger.

It got a little touchy and im not exactly sure where your viewpoint on "hating LINK" but yes I've registered the "I hate people that talk but have no action"  and you will devote your life to aiding others.  We'll have to continue this conversation next time cuz…cuz…it got touchy.  Lets talk about skp instead.  Haha.  Yes I'll check if she got it.

"the only picture I have from that whole trip of milan is ed in the bathtub"

"chung thinks that if he says anything with confidence people will buy it…." SHIHO!

"oh…I thought you had that wallet in blue"  hahaha.

"this is the hipster part of london."  you mean the henry fong part of london?

"there has been a church in this spot since 604 AD. It costs 700M sterling annual for upkeep here.  15 sterling admission duH"

"u've been in here watching apple girl on repeat.  you really do love her don't you?"

"hurry up and tag me in those fotos so i can add her as a friend and ask her out on a date...i've only got a few days left"

"chinese people smell and have small teeth/big gums"

"don't die"

"blood pudding is that hockey puck looking thing?"

"First time on BA – confirmed that all US carriers suck.

There's no culture shock here for the obvious reasons, however I feel as though I've heard the 'american accent' just as much as I've come in contact with the local accent.  I didn't really get lost, didn't have much trouble finding things, didn’t have real urge to see any sites and the only thing I seem to have learned from this trip is gasoline and diesel blending 101.  The easiest way to travel is to follow your stomach, and the food was nothing to rave about.  The locals didn't rave about local cuisine and other foreigners seemed to share this same sentiment so as soon as my class finished I rushed to the eurostar for another passport chop…to Paris!

Gastropub fare does nothing but make you fat and full.  I can barely handle beer to begin with and I don't find BEER to be appropriate at all times of the day.  Every 3 hours?  And that heavy gastro pub food of english breakfasts and hearty lunches designed to weather the fog and cold definitely doesn't help the waist line.  My jeans are tight.  HOWEVER, even though every plate of food seems overwhelmingly HUGE even compared to american portions, this food looks to be preservative free, fresh farm to table proteins carbs and vegetables.  No cheese. So it digests much better than if you had just dined at your local applebees.

KAI MAYFAIR – along the same lines as mr chows.  Not really chinese food.  But good food.  I'd go back.

RITZ – holding onto tradition doesn't equal comfort.  This hotel with it's vintage look, grasping heritage and pedigree as most of England does is uncomfortable to stay at because 1. I can't eat downstairs cuz I don't want to wear a suit and tie all the time 2. The beds are old and need to be changed 3. No wifi???

STERLING FX…KILLING ME.  The cabs are straight up ruthlessly expensive.  Other than that, prices are a bit steep but ridiculously more so if you factor in that damned exchange.

The UK is obviously in deep sh*t w their debt and complete lack of manufacturing and natural resource gdp.  So I ask the question, won't Englands power in the UK eventually shift to another nation ie Germany?  If Germany's going to bail everyone out, they might as well assume more political power?  Apparently UK as the center of the universe for so long does have some clout.  It has the law on it's side.  Jurisdiction precedence that everyone can follow.

I arrived in UK on Saturday morning.  By Monday night I was craving this.  Now that I'm on my way to Paris. I crave korean food.

CIPRIANI's. - "I'm an old fashioned guy…I go to places that I know" - sH.  Diff w my friends is that even though we like to over order we don't over order AND over eat like sH.  Wow. Before dinner I had 2 PINTS.  Then a bottle of wine at dinner. Bread @ the table.  4 apps. 2 entrees. 1 pasta. 1 side.  Ohmygoodness so full.
