入境隨俗 - "when in rome, do as the romans do"

as deemed by others, that's me in a nutshell. aided by my energy to throw myself into the deepwater of aboriginal culture, big drunken smile, and ability to juxtapose myself with native jokes...it's been my greatest asset in staying out here.  (all part of my own personal haj, the pilgrimage of rockstardom or make an extra 0, whichever comes first)...and along my own personal blender of cultures molding and tainting any hope of mastering any one language, i've shredded onto the alternative path of learning a little bit of everything...embracing the slangs and slanderings of each cutlures take of my own two languages chinese and english.  i love the hongkie "wahh...nei ho man ah", "gum fashion ahh", "ho ho detail ah"....then singlish while improving my hokkien has destroyed my english "why you so liddat ah!"....and now...after last weekend in taiwan, im trying to not only get those around me to speak taiwanese but also 台灣國語....

"SOO BU SOO HU?"
"HAO SOO HU, HAO SOO HU!"


hahahahhaa!

now say
"很爽" in taiwanese!  hahahha....
