In an effort to improve my journalistic aspirations, Ie started typing xanga on MS word before posting. But I only do minimal proofreading and spellchecking to allow the right brain to trample the free flowing spirit of the blog.
A few days ago, I typed that the two blogs in two days was a thing of the past.Well today, I reminiscing of two days, two concerts.Prince on Tuesday night, read below.Last night was a completely different ordeal. The trigger to buy Central Park Summerstage events was the visual of clear skies, hot weather and awesome music under the stars (a little niche of granola smack dab in the middle of the city).
My entourage and I were not prepared for a concert in the elements.Ben Folds?set was pretty much a New York City Broadway show remake of Peter Pan Indian Rain Dance. Not taking away his skills as a piano player, the man needs the ive?A couple of songs here and there are good with just him and a piano, but with his mediocre voice and upbeat melodies, the band would only enhance his songs and fill out the tunes. Not to mention, piano sets are best played in auditoriums, ballrooms, enclosed acoustical havens.Outdoors, youe definitely needing bass and percussion and a loud Gibson to blow the trees away.
Someone tell me why Rufus Wainright was posted on the ticket as the main act, cuz he wasn and never deserves to be.Dear Mi55Mango, He sucks, period. His set brought on the showers so up went the umbrella, wet sock from the puddles in the Astroturf (concert wasn on the lawn), and cold cold, oh so cold.I don even want to post on this guy.Midway through his show, I was beginning to feel suicidal. He brought his mom on, sang somewhere over the rainbow (oh yea, he did a duet of areless whispers?with folds earlier) and did body worship at the same time. His line of the night ay and straights can get a long??NO THANKS RUFUS.YOU SUCK.
The crowd seemed pretty resilient through one high school Broadway soundtrack and another gay man mourning over an ex boyfriend or something (he did mention that he was voting Kerry, which makes me not like Kerry even more). But good bands shall prevail and push away that stormy clout of wet annoyance.Guster baby, guster. The last time I saw them was last August and I couldn tell you why they are so good.Good clean sets of original music.Easy tracks, simple melodies, awesome harmonies a performing energy that ignites their audience, almost makes it too easy to strive for stardom ehh?Esther ?I tried calling you during ither way?and a fa?Alvin, if you still read this ?called you during emons? I almost scared to really remake this track because Ie heard it twice and they really do quite a number on this song. A good set.
Post concert rituals: KTOWN, weird ehh?
After incubus, went to baden.
After prince, players.
After guster, kang suh.
Beebong comment: tell me how you felt when he played 'purple rain' and let me know if people around you felt their lives changing into one big nostalgic mess.
Response: On the Broadway show tangent: If youe ever seen ats? its like at the end when the old cat takes the female cat (the one that sings emory? on to the rising saucer with smoke coming out underneath as if theye transcended the inane and moved to onto something better (case sensitive: a combination of reflecting upon the past of golden youth hen the song came out ?and the experience of life gained since then)

ahhah nice clip..what a dumb bitch
yeah dude, my friend told me the concert was completely wack ("guster was just...i dunno....guster..."). he was hoping that him being wasted would dull the pain of the music he was hearing, but alas, it only made him want to get violent.
hahahahahaha. dude, i can totally picture you doing that shit.
i don't care what you say, i still like his songs! but i didn't know that he was big enough to be a main act. then again, his songs have been in many movies.
what do you mean by 'he did body worship at the same time'? or maybe i need to get my mind out of somewhere it shouldn't be?
*ack*So there you have it. I just wrote the longest blog-response of my life and the system lost it. Wouldn't you know. Summary: my laughter exists on so many levels. I was commited to reading your blog, word for word, completely absorbed, i tell you, when my eyes glanced down and I just spoofed into the most uncontrolled laughter. I'm sitting at my desk on lunch break and I almost chosked on my reese's. My coworkers think I'm loony. Lovely. but as a brief description of the feelings your blog has made so pronounced in me:1) Your response to the PRINCE BLOG: Classic Alex. Leave it to you to find emotional evoking imagery in a broadway show scene. It makes me want to cry in so many ways i can't count. 2) The fact that the girl on the treadmill is on high-speed loop is almost too much to bear. I want to pee, I do. but lastly, and i can almost write this verbatim from 5 minutre's memory - your response to my response is not case sensitive so much that it is. And it is perfect. Thanks.
as of now...no...why wassup?
uhm, it makes me uncomfortable that you could pervert the apostrophe as you did. look at the last comment on my blog. It disturbs me the way 'there, their, they're' disturbs me. all else is oversight, but please - have some respect for the apostrophe.
in the worst of pain and grammar,
E.K.
Come to GA man...that would be great! Also, I've done that on the treadmill. Sr yr in H.S. dropping 10lbs for wrestling, with the sweat suit on. Decided to smartly put the treadmill at max speed to finish up the last 10 mins of my 1.5hr run... Lost concentration from dehydration, and went flying. Brilliant.
damnn, did u actually see that happen or did u get the clip from somewhere else???
Vic wont agree on a threesome with another guy. Maybe he'll say yes if you're our third party.
