the boscolo milano, autograph collection acquired by the marriott group in 2011 seemed to be a great choice to stay with great location and quite a prestigious name. it's just weird. art deco, high gloss finishes in the heart of milan makes for an awkward feel in the heart of a cultural and historic city. even though a five minute walk from duomo, sight seeing still gets you tired and wanting to go back to the comforts of a hotel to just rest. instead you get a hotel that's gone so far out of the way to be contemporary, it's weird and somewhat uncomfortable. the lobby is like an adult amusement park which now seems dated...the hallways are dark...and the rooms just don't make sense...why is the toilet and the master sink in separate rooms? why do i have a million shower products? what is with that unicorn/clam looking thing on the ceiling and mostly....WHY THE GREEN CHAIR????
whats even more upsetting is that the boscolo rome...LOOKS AMAZING.... #GAH
PS: i lost my shorts.

"i got a guy if you want to go clubbing...like james hwang...which is used if you wanna go to a table for free...i met him at a restaurant...he was with a whole shitload of models, just some promoter guy and i was with ****....and uhh...we had a drink with him at the restaurant and he invited us to go to the club later...and then last time i went...i almost met up with him again on my own...but passed out..."
WIKI - A world's fair, world fair, world exposition or universal exposition (sometimes spelledexpo for short) is a large public exhibition. These exhibitions vary in character and are held in varying parts of the world. The currentworld's fair is Expo 2015 in Milan, Italy.
it's like...coachella at the hong kong airport...a huge outdoor space with exhibitions and lights and sculptures with a tented canopy that looks like HKIA gateway terminal. and that's exactly what i think they should do with that space...because...i was uninterested after 10 minutes. we visited the bahrain exhibit because there was no line...and instead of going into any other countries....we found eataly and wine...and then the tree of life and called it a night... =)

i haven't been to milan in 4 years. nothing's changed. probably just more chinese tourists. but this time someone tried to rob me in front of duomo until they realized i had nothing in my pockets.
ristorante la specialita...just your basic trattoria pizzeria in the heart of milan. english menus and english speakers. and i just stuffed my face with pizza and cured meats like i did the entire trip. pizza is light...and the cured meats...well they are absolutely phenomenal. going home with swollen hands from the high sodium was totally worth it.
this culatello...a "refined" version of prosciutto makes it almost like the spanish iberico jamon. so tasty...the cured smoky flavor penetrates every part of your mouth leaving your taste buds tingling and ur nostrils twinging at the smoky profile. then you take a bite of that stratchiatella cheese....where the creamy consistency melts in your mouth but still holds it shape and u bite into that cheesy goodness. oh man. OH MAN!
i did not know what real gelato was until now. whatever i thought was gelato was completely wrong. this cold american iced cream i had been having in america, or even worse, that supermarket jarred stuff is a complete bastardization of what real gelato is. which ironically has a similar description to creamy cold iced cream...but real gelato...the stuff i had that beautiful afternoon in vico morcote switzerland absolutely blew my mind. this borderline soupy custardy cool savory dessert that immediately coats your tongue dispersing a rich luscious pistachio intensity down your throat. it is absolutely amazing.
ristorante la sorgente - (the food was quite spectacular too. deconstructed eggplant parmigiana with a chilled tomato mouse...and then this grilled octopus over hummus dish, so tender and so carefully constructed that the slightest bite of tomato with a tad of olive tapenade with each bite was perfectly conjoined with the crunch of the prawn cracker for a textural crunch. great place, great view. great food)

and then there's this artisan gelateria paganelli near the gioia stop in milano...so many unconventional flavors and the special wine sherbet creation by the owner franck. start with the red wine sherbet as an appetizer. move to the pignoli and stratchiatella for main course...go have dinner...and then come back from another duo serving of chocolate and cumin....cookie on top? YES PLEASE!
when you have a destination wedding...transplanting your entire core 75 to another place just to have a ceremony and reception...is TIRING! even for the guests. but i was excited to be in italy, excited to be in como, and excited to be there for alex & karen. how do i know alex? don't ask. it ain't even weird. we homies. - villa teodolinda is in laglio, como. it's pretty close to where clooney lives. it's pretty damn pretty. what they set up for their wedding is the perfect picturesque type wedding u take a lot of photos and post online to not so humbly brag to the world that you ballin' and married. =) but more importantly, any wedding and moreso destination wedding is a chance to hang with ur family and friends for a week before/after the wedding...
this is my favorite pic of the night. hehehehe
