WEDNESDAY: the last time i went to schillers was in 2005.  by then, it had already become a new york bistro staple.   it was one of the places i wanted to try before leaving nyc in 2004 but never got aorund to it.  so when i came back to visit in 2005, i went with janie, connors and jenn....before he was married.  all of mcnally's restaurants kind of look and feel the same.  the menu is the same too.  the food was not good.  i remember the bathroom being a lot cooler. yep.  6 years later.  def jaded.

all day wednesday, i was not in good shape.

couldn't shake the soju.  ate early lunch.  then needed a long walk to chinatown w sami for more food.  couldn't eat again but needed to sweat.

miami went to miami.  i was leftover.  but w such perfect weather.  a crazy day in the markets.  (yes call me a genius cuz im short treasuries and long gold).  all u want is dinner.  its not that i can remember much, but i spent saturday morning eating an egg salad sandwich in the park showing off pictures from the night before saying. "it just worked.  everyone got along.  the flow was good. the vibe was good.  first time i met them but they were quick.  i started the convo with amanda.  and they just caught on.  adding in a little bit of lash and louboutin haterade.  the relaxed confident aura scarfed down foie gras and uni amuse bouches and turned the topic towards punctured spleens and double digit preferences.  the pictures of spilled milky soju eventually prompted the email chain that seems to have wings of its own....

saturday morning story telling.  egg salad. bagel. and then an hour later.  shake shack.  and i ALMOST went bike riding afterwards.  almost.  stayed in and rested cuz i ALMOST stayed in saturday night. ALMOST.  ended up at arang and circle and biny.  

my first shake shack.  burgers not bad.  it's just a burger.  price point makes it better.  but the fries....cafeteria frozen fries?  C"MON DANNY MEYER.

we not only find solace in venting to each other.  we now find solace in rebelling against the shackles of skype.  so before lynn left for beirut "all i want is chinese food, cuz you can't get it in beirut".  i have a long standing plan to introduce them to every part of chinatown.  thai son.  what i consider to be the best viet in ctown.

most beautiful night out @ bryant part grill.  australian-esque weather with australian company.  too much fun trying to check in, play with fire and get in trouble. that just ended up with neng myun and yogurt @ mukenji.

things have been tough.  last year i would have been hungover due to pounding as many drinks as fast as possible. 

this year. im sober. im laughing.  and handling it a lot better.

despite all things being worse.  coping mechanisms are more cognizant of self discovery aspects.  like finding the loophole for a non paying match dot come user through the blackberry application.

and just like that the 6 emails sitting in my inbox now had faces. 

im glad i didn't sign up for match yet.

i'll re-asess in another month.
