even i have a hard time imagining myself walking down high school corridors with a red jansport, cradling my lacrosse stick and juking random peers walking by me.  khaki's shirt and tie with a jersey on top.  i remember coming home after school smelling like dirty grass and wet sock, showering and watching collegiate sports on tv all night.  my saturdays were football games or wrestling tournaments and sundays were spent catching up on homework and studying for tests with the tv on.   sunday tv was religiously nba inside stuff with ahmad rashad and hten the nba on nbc double header....where pat riley's knicks with xaviar mcdaniels, rolando blackman, kiki vandeweigh, anthony mason, john starks and ewing and oakley took on MJ and always lost.  but it was always a good game.  then u'd have the west coast battle of shawn kemp and gp versus sean elliot and david robinson.  i'd always go shooot some hoops at half time pretending i was a face up post player like drob.  its quite a vivid memory....and yet sooo distant cuz i feel so detached from those days since i barely even watch sportscenter these days.

the last time i saw the knicks live was when they went to the playoffs....could that be 2001?  i was tempted to do the LJ arm motion when i walked in.   and look for chris childs to bump chests.  it feels good to root for the home team again.  melo/stoudamire/bllups.  its also odd to see a knicks team score points!  im more used to the half court offense and stringent defense holding opponents to 90 points while only scoring 92.  today's d'antoni knicks scored 78pts in the first half!

thanks dcho for the tickets.  thanks frank for coming.  and that's whats so awesome about nyc.  its seamless to get tickets last minute and go to a game last minute.  and then of course there's always ktown to wash it down.

"this is something that you would never understand."...amanda thinks that i don't understand life on a appreciation of the obvious level.  walking around and enjoying the weather....chilling and enjoying ur surroundings is something that gets under my skin and bores me.  she's probably right.

@ 30 with a travel and drinking habit of a prodigal college student, my persona has not yet found a way to tone down the narcissistic blogging.  My life revolves around facebook and oil...which is enough of an intriguing overview for my online friends and i quote "your fb keeps me occupied for at least 30 minutes".  choose me.  i'm never at a shortage for words.  cheers.

Alex

work has slowly eaten away at my weekends.  when i fly to asia, i fly on saturday morning to land sunday and work monday.  when i fly domestic i fly saturday morning to arrive saturday evening for the first meeting/dinner of the week.  ugh.  so of course, it's become a ritual to get absolutely blasted the night before a 7am flight.  it's also a ritual for tom fong to drive me to the airport.  thank you sir.

"hi gina, lets grab HH."

"ok u're coming to dinner with us."

"i'll go if dz goes."

"done"

yes gina - my bromance with ur man makes ur relationship stronger.  FACT.

YUBA IS GOOOOD!  but the oysters are not as big and creamy as i remember it.

whether it be for reputation, social responsibility, precedence, the US stands in a position to influence global matters even when it makes no sense.  however, the effects of war today are completely different that that 50 years ago.  we still fight for natural resources, but We are in an age where military defense companies do not drive a countrys economy.  the next wave of fiscal growth comes from the facebooks and ipads of silicon valley.  Governments w oil blood lines won't have economic growth by going to war.  what i propose is to just load tanks with ipads and windows vistas and launch them into enemy lines.  drive chinese manufacturing of tech goods, decrease supply of tech goods. it's a win win all around.

that song was ok. i thought jungyup sang it better. kimbumsoo's win was well deserved. kimgunmo shouldn't even be there this week. he got last place last week.

"what is that noise? sounds like someone's crying" - oh that's just korean music. HAHA.
